NYFW ReCap: Tiffany Brown Designs
Tiffany Brown is a designer based out of Atlanta, GA and I had the pleasure of attending her NYFW show on Saturday, February 10, 2024. Here are a few of my thoughts on the show:
What I LOVED:
The Garments: Many of the garments were very wearable. There were a couple looks I could actually see myself wearing either day to day or for different occasions in my life. The stylist also did his thing with the men’s looks. They had these really dope facial jewelry pieces that caught my attention. The two fabrics I loved were the yellow jacquard and a metallic gold, pleated materials.
The Models: I love when designers showcase the versatility of their garments through a diverse set of models. There were a range of skin tones, ethic backgrounds, heights and sizes. Tiffany Brown made a good attempt to reflect the people who would be wearing her garments.
The Location: The show was held in the New York Bar Association’s library. It was so elegant and stunning to say the least
Now to the area of improvement:
The quality: While I enjoyed that the garments were mostly wearable, I do wish more attention was placed into the quality of the materials that were used to construct them. Quite frankly, the material made the garments look cheap. I would have loved to see Tiffany experiment more with the Jacquard and pleated materials or invest in more high quality fabrics all around. At the end of the day, the garments are what designers are trying to sell. So as wonderful as the styling, models and locations were, the clothes are ultimately what’s important and they missed the mark for me.
Overall, the show was cute and I think Tiffany has great potential that I would love to see her tap into more. I want to see you THRIVE, Tiffany! So all of this is said with love because I know you are capable of more 🫶🏾
