Welcome to our first installment of, Glam’s Court! Our first review is of a brand I just recently found out about called Nineth Closet. They are a Black and women owned brand that caters specifically to tall women, so I’m glad I found out about them and will be adding them to my directory of Black Owned brand (updates about that will be coming out soon). So let’s get into the review because GIRL I was sooooo surprised.
I first found about them through my sister, she shared their page with me on Instagram and I was hooked just by reading their bio. They listed the inseams they provide from a 35 inch inseam ALL THE WAY to a 41 inch inseam. 41 INCHES!!!!!!!! This is the longest inseam I’ve seen to date. scrolling through their feed I saw that they provide a variety of clothing options not just denim, which I also really loved. I’m really set on purchasing one of their all in one catsuits because I can NEVER find one that is long enough for me.
Next, I went over to their website and like most other online retail websites it’s pretty easy to navigate, but what really caught me was their pricing. To be honest, I was expecting some really high prices BUT they were right on par with another brand I always purchase my pants from, so while you can expect to pay a little bit more for than normal jeans, the pricing is actually really decent and in line with some other brands. I purchased the Seam Slit Boot Cut Denim pair in a size 11/12 and a 37 inch inseam (which is my typical sizing). They were $50. One thing to note is that they only have 3 denim styles available at the moment, but they are all pretty current styles. Shipping was also free for my purchase, however, the standard charge is $8.95.
The shipping process was pretty quick for me, I received my order to New York City (from Virginia) in just under a week, another plus for me. But I wasn’t expecting the packaging. At first I was confused as to why they chose such a big packing box, until I opened it and saw how the packed my order in one of their branded boxes. They really thought about their customer and the experience they get when opening their order. No cap, it felt really luxurious to open that box and see my jeans folded nicely inside.
Now let’s get to the good stuff, the actual jeans. ER-MAH-GAWD I love them so much! So not only do they fit my inseam, they fit my body in ways I never thought jeans could, lol. They have stretch to them, which is amazing and they conform to my body/shape. Imagine Fashion Nova’s shaping jeans, for tall girls. BUT the best part is THEY ARE HIGH WAISTED!!!!!!! Like ACTUALLY high waisted for tall girls, like comes up above my belly button high waisted. And of course the seam slit is perfect to give a peek-a-boo and whatever footwear you’ve got going on.
So I think it’s more than safe to say, the court (and my mother, actually) rule in favor of Nineth Closet! This brand will forever hold a special place in my heart and I can’t wait to purchase that catsuit 😉
